Our signature Orkney Duvet Cover is made from the linen that started it all, the original 'rough' linen. Elemental, timeless, and woven on traditional single-width looms, the Orkney Duvet Cover is made with no seams designed to have a seamless appearance and finished with the coconut buttons, or invisible zippers for minimalists. The unmistakeable texture and weight feels like getting a hug from your comforter. The undyed Natural color softens with wear and washing to a subtle silvery sheen.
A duvet cover should fit the infill snugly - up to 6" smaller all around - to ensure that it doesn't shift. I have even put a king infill into a queen cover, with cosy results. Please measure your duvet, as infill sizes are not standard.
Material: Woven from 100% European Flax. Heavyweight Orkney 7.7 oz/sq. yd

I had been wanting linen sheets forever and my boyfriend decided to buy them for me for Xmas. From the moment I opened the beautiful package, I knew I was going to love them. My boyfriend then decided he needed a whole new bed and ordered his. I promptly followed up by ordering the duvet in dusk which is a perfect compliment for a chair with homemade slipcovers and my valances. A little luxury goes such a long way and makes me feel like a queen when I go to bed or just walk in the room! Thanks Rough Linen.
Absolutely incredible, high quality luxury bedding. Looking forward to my next purchase!
I have several Rough Linen pieces and love them all, but Orkney is my favorite weight! I love the duvet cover and the shams were just delivered!! I love the possibilities to be creative with my RL bedding! It’s an investment, but well worth it!!!
The quality and workmanship is excellent! A little disappointed in the colour as I thought it would be a lighter grey with a name like fog.
I own two Orkney duvets, one in charcoal and one in white. The charcoal held up well for several years, and I've loved it. Enough to buy a second in white for the guest room. Do NOT buy any of the linen products in white as they will shed lint in abundance, indefinitely. I've worked with customer care to address the issue, and used dryer sheets and lint collectors as suggested. Now still two years later, sitting or lying on them even briefly leaves you covered in white lint. I can only imagine how much is collecting in the carpet and being inhaled. At this point I'm giving up and donating the set of white. The charcoal duvet hasn't held up as hoped, and is also due for retirement. Certainly not heirloom quality, but I got about 3 years of consistent use from it, which seems fair. 4 stars for charcoal, 2 for white.
